South University to Offer Admission, Free Tuition to Transient Students Displaced by Hurricane Katrina

Program Also Available to Students Nationwide via South University Online Courses

SAVANNAH, GA – South University is offering admission and free tuition to transient students who were enrolled at colleges and universities forced to close by Hurricane Katrina. Undergraduate and graduate students may seek enrollment at South University for the fall 2005 quarter, beginning Oct. 3.

Students who were enrolled at a University forced to close by Hurricane Katrina, may register at any South University campus for courses, on a space available basis, for fall quarter 2005. Students interested in pursuing an online degree should consult South University Online at: www.southuniversity-online.com or call 1-888-444-3404. An appointment, in person or by phone will be arranged with an admissions officer who will assist the student.

If students have already registered and paid tuition at their home institution for the fall Quarter, the University will waive all tuition and only mandatory student fees will be assessed. If students from these institutions have not yet paid their tuition at their home institution, they will be required to pay the lesser of the current published tuition and fees at their home institution or the South University published tuition and fees, as determined by the campus president. Payment arrangements may be made through the Financial Aid office at each South University campus.

Students will be asked to certify that they were enrolled and had paid tuition for fall 2005 in a college or university closed as a result of Hurricane Katrina. The program is available for the fall 2005 quarter only and does not include housing or meals.

South University offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through its three schools: School of Business, School of Health Professions and School of Pharmacy. Many programs are offered in formats convenient to working adults and are therefore available on weekends and evenings at most campuses. In addition to traditional classroom learning opportunities, South University has a variety of online programs and in addition, offers students the opportunity to complete their degree through its unique Plus+ program that combines classroom and online learning.

Students who wish more information about available courses at each campus location are urged to consult the University's Web site at: www.southuniversity.edu or contact 1-866-629-2901. South University has campuses in Savannah, Ga., Montgomery, Ala., Columbia, S.C. and West Palm Beach, Fla.
