

The Associate of Science in Accounting degree program is designed to provide students with the appropriate background, knowledge, and skills they need to enter the field of accounting. They pursue such topics as analyzing transactions, completing the accounting cycle, accounting systems, internal control and journals, accounting for assets and liabilities, and accounting in different business structures.
Accounting graduates are prepared to seek employment in such diverse sectors as business, health, government, education, manufacturing, and social services. To acquire the broad-based flexibility to enter these areas, students learn the accounting cycle, accounting procedures for merchandising, and the basics of cost accounting. In addition, they learn how to work with balance sheets, income statements, statements of financial position (balance sheets) and how to prepare a statement of cash flow.
